Schedule Highlights (7:30 AM – 7:00 PM):

  • 7:30 AM: Registration Opens with Continental Breakfast
  • 8:00 AM – 4:45 PM: Exhibits Open
  • 8:00 AM – 9:45 AM (Seminar I): Douglas L. Aaberg, PLS (Carlson Software) presenting “Creating Base Maps and Preliminary Designs w/Public Data”
  • 10:00 AM – 4:45 PM (Seminar II): Raymond Hintz (University of Maine) presenting “Managing with the Upcoming Datum Changes” (This seminar includes a break and a longer session in the afternoon).
  • 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM: Lunch Buffet, 50/50 Raffle, Membership Meeting, Induction of Officers, Awards
  • 3:30 PM – 4:45 PM: NESS Meeting (All are welcome)
  • 4:45 PM – 5:15 PM: Door Prizes / Certificates (at the Registration Table)
  • 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM: Cocktail Reception w/Hors d’oeuvres & Scholarship Silent Auction

Speakers and Seminars (7 PDH available for the full day):

  • Douglas L. Aaberg, PLS (Carlson Software): Survey/Civil Product Manager. Presentation: Creating Base Maps and Preliminary Designs w/Public Data. (Morning session)
  • Raymond Hintz (University of Maine): Professor of Surveying Engineering Technology. Presentation: Managing with the Upcoming Datum Changes. (Late morning and afternoon sessions)

Registration Fees (Full Day Registration includes ALL Seminars, Exhibits, lunch & breaks):

  • Members (RISPLS and active members of CALS, MALSCE, MSLS, NHLSA, NYSAPLS, and VSLS): $290.00
  • Non-Members: $305.00
  • Students with ID: FREE (Must RSVP)
  • Luncheon & Award Ceremony Only (11:30 AM – 2:00 PM): $160.00 (Members), $175.00 (Non-Members)
  • Exhibit Hall Only (11:30 AM – 2:00 PM, no lunch): $75.00 (Members), $100.00 (Non-Members)
  • A 3.5% transaction fee is added for credit card payments (VISA/MASTER CARD).

Other Activities & Information:

  • Scholarship Silent Auction: Held during the Cocktail Reception immediately following certificate pickup. Donations are welcome.
  • Plan Contest: Rules and entry form are provided. Plans must be from RI, dated between November 2024 and November 2025. Submission deadline is 10:00 AM on November 21, 2025, at the Registration Table.
  • Sponsorships: Various sponsorship opportunities are available (e.g., Continental Breakfast, Lunch, Student Lunch).
  • Hotel: Overnight reservations should be made early by emailing Ashley.mizer@crownehotelwarwick.com and mentioning the RISPLS Event 11/21/25. Complimentary wireless internet and free on-site parking are provided.
  • Scholarship Application: Information is provided for The Pierre H. Guillemette Scholarship Award, with an application deadline of October 27, 2025.
